How to buy stock tokens on Robinhood Chain

• >A wallet that can reach Robinhood Chain. The Robinhood Wallet, MetaMask, Rabby and most others; Gifted Stock adds the network for you the first time.
• >USDG or ETH on Robinhood Chain. Or USDC or ETH on Base, which the Swap tab brings over.
• >A little ETH on Robinhood Chain for gas. A swap costs a cent or two.

One thing it cannot be is a smart wallet such as Base Account: those cannot use Robinhood Chain yet. And you cannot be in the US - Robinhood does not offer stock tokens to US persons and they are not available everywhere else either.

   Step 1: Get USDG or ETH onto Robinhood Chain

   Stock tokens live on Robinhood Chain, so the money you pay with has to be there too. If it is on Base, the Swap tab moves it: sell USDC or ETH on Base and buy USDG or ETH on Robinhood Chain - Relay carries it across, usually in seconds, for 0.75%.    Step 2: Pick what you pay and the stock token

   On the Swap tab, pick USDG or ETH on Robinhood Chain in the sell box and type an amount - $1 is the least you can buy. In the buy box, pick the stock token: the deepest markets sit at the top of the list and the search finds the rest. The buy box shows about how much arrives, with the 1% fee already taken out.

   Step 3: Swap and confirm

   Press Swap. Your wallet is moved to Robinhood Chain if it is not there yet; the network is added the first time. Paying with USDG, you approve the exact amount, sign a free permit and send the swap; paying with ETH, you send one transaction. The stock token lands in your wallet seconds later and your History tab lists the trade.

The moment you press Swap, the stock token's Chainlink price is read on Robinhood Chain itself. A quote that pays more than 1.5% under Chainlink's price (2% outside US market hours) is refused. The swap is then run once without sending anything: your wallet sees it only if it goes through and delivers what it quoted. Slippage is capped at 0.5%.

Paying with ETH, the ETH is held to Chainlink's ETH price the same way. The fee is 1%, taken out of what arrives - nothing extra on top in USDG or ETH.

Turn the card around: press the arrow between the two boxes, put the stock token on top and USDG or ETH underneath, then swap. A holding worth less than $0.05 cannot be sold and the fee is 1% of what you get. To sell several in one go, use the Sell side of your portfolio.

Stock tokens are Robinhood's product and come with Robinhood's rules. Five worth knowing:

issuer

Robinhood. A token with the same ticker at an address Robinhood does not list is not a stock token.

multiplier

One token stands for a set number of shares, which moves with dividends and splits: its price is the share's price times the multiplier.

price

Chainlink feeds on Robinhood Chain price each token; they pause over the weekend, while the pools trade on.

controls

Robinhood can pause a token, blocklist a wallet and upgrade the contract.

who can hold
